Trig Point Cabernet 2010 Diamond Dust Vineyard
Trig Point Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 comes from a single vineyard, Diamond Dust. This vineyard is located in Alexander Valley, where some of your other favorite wines such as Silver Oak, Jordan, Lancaster and others, come from. This wine is part of “The Sorting Table” portfolio, which is one of my personal favorite wine distributors
Diamond Dust sits on a bench land site in the Alexander Valley facing southeast in beautiful bowl. This unique topography protects the vineyard from the wind. The early morning fog and deep gravelly loam soils are ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. Diamond Dust was the predominate vineyard for the Simi Cabernet Reserve program from 1980 – 1997. Indeed, one of the great uncompromising vineyards of the Alexander Valley and certainly a “trig point” for growing classy Bordeaux varietals. This information has been obtained through “The Sorting Table” website
Wine Tasting Profile:
This wine contains powerful dark fruit such as black cherries, black currant and plum. Through the oak aging process we get espresso, bitter sweet chocolate and cigar box flavors. On the palate you get great acidity, which is complemented by tannins that are abundant, firm and ripe. The only thing that would make this wine taste even better is a big, juicy, ribeye steak.
This 19 dollar wine is a great value wine, and I highly recommend decanting it for at least 30 minutes before drinking.
